Who we are

Ohrsom is a not-for-profit, Jewish outreach organisation founded in 2012.
We are devoted to building personal enrichment and communal belonging in the lives of young Jewish Australians through Torah-based learning and experiences.

We empower students with the tools to embrace their Jewish values and successfully integrate them into their world on a day to day basis. Offering contemporary leadership, international travel and student centres within Melbourne and Sydney, we create and provide students with personal and meaningful experiences, fuelling continuity and promoting higher living through a uniquely Jewish lens.

We offer a wide range of trips and events, both local and abroad, which are either highly subsidised or completely free, which is the catalyst for personal growth, forming life-time friendships and instilling a sense of Jewish pride and values in our students’ lives.

WHAT WE OFFER

OHRSOM GAP YEAR

A nine-month program for post high school students, based in Israel with a significant world travel component. Designed to empower participants with real life skills and seminal Jewish experiences to carry with them into adulthood.

OHRSOM TRIPS

A vibrant, social and uplifting 2-4 week, Israel adventure for university students. The program includes post-trip follow up sessions, cementing a sense of belonging to their local Ohrsom community and new friendship networks.

OHRSOM COMMUNITY

Social events, local getaways, Shabbat and Festival meals. Showcasing the relevance of Torah wisdom, broadening Jewish identity and cultivating social networks. Our activities are inclusive and diverse, providing something for everyone.

Champions of grassroot leadership, students are supported to drive key initivatives and projects for the Ohrsom and broader community. Their leadership journey is enriched by the ability to participate in a host of advanced programs including our 2.0 Israel Program and Olami’s annul global leadership summit.

Our students have not only grown personally through the Ohrsom experience and journey, but they have instilled an energy within their communities.
